Did You Know? (Comic Strip)
The violence and horror found in certain comic strips during the first half of the 20th century led authorities to study the potential danger of these works as regards delinquency and crime.
In 1954, the American Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency began an investigation into the issue, which obliged comic strip publishers to adopt an internal code of censorship to restrict overly violent drawings, with the creation of the Comics Magazine Association of America and, subsequently, the CMAA Comics Code.
