Joan Miró (1893-1983)
Catalan painter and sculptor, Joan Miró, frequently stayed in Paris beginning in the 20's. There, he discovered the Dada movement. He next rallied to Surrealism, which transformed the very way he painted.
He created, moreover, a sensation in 1925 by exhibiting his works associated with the movement. Several years later, he began to explore sculpture. Colorful shapes and representational signs characterized the playful works of this outstanding artist of the 20th century.
