The Literary Tale

The literary tale differs from the folk tale by its written form. It's equally characterized by a rapid progress of the action as well as the presence of fictitious or fantastic elements.

Having often had as its unique goal to be a written transcription of the popular tale with a view to its preservation, the literary tale came to the fore over the course of time as a style in itself.
