The Metal Arts

The Metal Arts include many fields of expertise, from wrought iron to silversmithy. They are equally very ancient, for certain primitive works date back to Protohistoric times.

The very first creations were made from meteoric iron, gold, or silver, well before the elaboration of the first alloys.

In addition to ornaments, metal was also used to create utilitarian objects for hunting, war, and everyday activities. In a way, metalworking accelerated the course of history, while enabling men to make their lives easier.
