artisteSuzie Allard | The artist

Suzie Allard lives in Chaleur Bay with her family. Mother of an autistic little girl, she says she can communicate with her by means of humor and laughter. The moments when she's able to paint or make pottery enable her, however, to escape; to forget her daughter's plight.

She particularly loves to paint wild animals, undoubtedly due to the idea of freedom which they summon up, a freedom which she sorely misses.

artisteLucie Parent | The artist

As a child, Lucie Parent liked to gaze up at the stained-glass windows of her church and said to herself that one day she would make them too. She finally began to do so and asserted that it's not a difficult art. Creating enables her to rediscover the child within her, and gives her the occasion to never be bored. She enjoys playing with light by assemblage, just as she makes her renowned stained-glass windows.

A former teacher, her life is completely different today. She had to abandon her profession somewhat prematurely because her body could no longer keep up with her. Fortunately, art restored her balance and she loves the solitude of creation. She believes that we must dare in art and return to the pleasure of children; in a word, have fun.
